Client List

APANO logo

I am working with Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO) to develop branding, messaging, a website, and social media channels for the Multnomah County Community Health Improvement Plan. APANO is statewide, grassroots organization, uniting Asians and Pacific Islanders to achieve social justice. They are a member organization of the Oregon Health Equity Alliance (OHEA).

Arana Consulting logo

I worked with Claudia Arana Colen to develop branding for her new consulting firm. Arana Consulting, based in Portland, launched this spring and provides research, analysis, policy, and strategy development services to nonprofits focused on improving racial justice, equity, and access in all areas.

SPCA International logo

I manage email marketing for SPCA International, a global organization dedicated to advancing the safety and well-being of animals. More than a quarter of a million people around the world receive email each month from SPCAI.

CALCRA logo

The California Continuing Care Residents Association (CALCRA) is the only organization whose sole purpose is representing residents of Continuing Care Retirement Communities. I recently completed a full website redesign for the nonprofit, rewriting the content and migrating the site from WordPress to Squarespace. I provide ongoing website maintenance and G Suite support for CALCRA.

Carmelita Community Health logo

I guided Karla Morgan on the launch of her Portland-based naturopathic practice, Carmelita Community Health. We worked together to identify her mission, core clients, and branding. I incorporated design elements that reflect Karla's Mexican heritage and her experience learning from Oaxacan healers. Carmelita Community Health provides Mayan abdominal massage and diabetes education and group care.

Jack and Jill Portland Willamette Valley Chapter

Jack and Jill Portland Willamette Valley Chapter is a membership organization of mothers dedicated to nurturing future African-American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty. I provided pro bono design services to create an informational postcard that was distributed at a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day event. The finished full-color print postcard highlighted the chapter's new website and shared information on programs.

Felicita Monteblanco for THPRD

Felicita Monteblanco was a welcoming force when I moved to Portland. She invited me to her Latinx Social Hour + Learning Component gatherings that bring together smart, talented Latinos to discuss and take action on important issues. It came as no surprise when she announced that she was running for a seat on the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) board. I designed lawn signs pro bono for her successful campaign.

Vibrant Seniors Events logo

Vibrant Seniors Events specializes in offering fun, upscale events and tours for seniors in the Los Angeles area. In addition to creating print and digital marketing pieces, I completely redesigned the company's website last year. I incorporated the brand's vibrant colors and added online ticket sales when migrating the site from WordPress to Squarespace.

Accurate Investigation Services logo

Accurate Investigation Services is a full-service employee background and tenant screening company. They chose me to redesign a double-sided brochure, a critical component of their sales and marketing that is sent to leads and included in new client welcome kits. I created a clean, professional piece with a custom pricing chart incorporating the company's brand colors and fonts.

360 Admin logo

I was hired by 360 Admin, a Texas-based administrative consulting company, to provide brand management and customer service to their longtime client Taco Bueno. This project involved quickly understanding and adopting the brand voice for customer communications. I collaborated closely with the 360 Admin and Taco Bueno teams, guiding a shift to Slack for client communications and assisting in documenting brand guidelines for social media.

What Clients Say

It was a breath of fresh air to work with Mixto Communications. I feel like Ericka is someone who understands the work and the deeper concepts of my field—politics, policy, health and racial equity. She is incredibly sharp and responsive and also clear regarding expectations and projects and timelines. She created a logo and bio that fit my work and personality and was also willing to dispense important ideas and guidance along the way.
— Claudia Arana Colen, Arana Consulting

I chose Mixto Communications because of Ericka’s experience, but it quickly became apparent that her true talents go beyond a skill set. She has something you cannot teach - the ability to be intuitive and confident while performing on behalf of a client. I feel that anyone can learn a skill, but it takes a special person to truly understand a client’s needs, take ownership, and integrate seamlessly into a team.
— Julia Lilly, 360 Admin

I reached out to Mixto Communications for a refresh of my resume and LinkedIn profile, and what I walked away with was far more life-changing—a renewed outlook, vision, and plan for my dream career. Ericka pointed out strengths and patterns that helped me understand and identify the niche that sets me apart. The thought provoking questionnaire and one-on-one session really helped shape my career trajectory and identify what I aspire to do and who I want to be.
