Mixto Communications is a marketing and communications consultancy focused on creating genuine community connections. When we collaborate, I’ll take the time to get to know you and your organization. I’ll ask to reflect on your purpose so you can share with me why you do what you do and how it makes the world a better place. We’ll spend time listening to the community voices that shape your mission.
My process is intentional because it’s client stories that guide my work: branding, messaging, websites, and strategic planning for advocacy and community engagement. My primary clients are organizations advocating for social justice and racial equity and amplifying voices that too often go unheard. If you’d like to learn more about working together, let’s connect.
I'm the founder of Mixto Communications. Before starting my own company, I spent more than two decades in government, higher education, and nonprofits. I fell in love with public service when I joined the staff of a Los Angeles elected official and went on to work for organizations like UCLA and AARP.
When I became a mother in 2014, I realized that my Type A workaholic lifestyle didn’t mesh well with how I envisioned parenthood. By the time my maternity leave ended, I realized I couldn’t live the life I wanted while I was working for someone else, so I launched Mixto Communications. Returning to a full time job while juggling a side hustle, infant, and marriage wasn’t easy but I knew I was on the right path.
A few months later, my employer offered buyouts and I took the opportunity to officially become my own boss. Since then, I’ve worked with nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses across the country, helping clients create connections that help their organizations and their communities thrive.
